Closest Airports

Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO)

Located in San José, Costa Rica. This is the recommended airport for most travelers and offers the widest range of international flights.

Approx. Travel Time: 90 minutes to Playa Hermosa

Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR)

Located in Liberia, Costa Rica. A good option for travelers flying from the western United States or Canada.

Approx. Travel Time: 3.5–4 hours to Playa Hermosa

Transportation & Shuttle Options

  • Private Shuttle (Recommended): Door-to-door service, air-conditioned, safe, and ideal for international travelers and groups.
  • Shared Shuttle: Budget-friendly option with scheduled pickup times and possible stops along the way.
  • Rental Cars: Not required for the retreat. Optional for guests extending their stay or exploring independently.

Shuttle coordination assistance is available prior to arrival.

Passport & Visa Requirements

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates
  • Most travelers from the U.S., Canada, UK, and EU do not require a visa for stays under 90 days
  • Proof of onward travel may be requested upon arrival

Playa Hermosa enjoys a warm tropical climate year-round.

  • Daytime: 80–88°F (27–31°C)
  • Evenings: 72–76°F (22–24°C)
  • Short tropical rain showers are common and typically pass quickly, keeping the landscape lush and vibrant.

Expect warm ocean breezes, golden sunsets, and jungle sounds at night.

Arrival Tips

  • Bring small bills for tips and local purchases
  • USD is widely accepted alongside Costa Rican Colón
  • English is commonly spoken in tourist areas
  • Costa Rica is one of the safest and most welcoming countries in Central America
